Godfrey M. Bakuli is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Mutoro Group, an investment firm employing a patient, disciplined, and rational approach to fundamental value investing. At The Mutoro Group, investing is an intellectually stimulating, challenging, and rewarding endeavor. To do it well is not about predicting the future but about preparing for it. Infusing this attitude into everything we do, we aspire to protect and grow the capital of our partners.

Godfrey was formerly a Co-Founder and Partner at Connor Capital SB, a private investment partnership focused on investing in transportation and transportation infrastructure companies. He previously served as an investment professional at Sageview Capital, a $1 billion fund managing capital in the public and private markets, researching investment ideas across various sectors and working closely with portfolio companies. Before that, he was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in New York. There, Godfrey advised the management of public and private companies in the transportation and infrastructure industries on $6 billion of financial and strategic advisory assignments, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate defense activities, and equity and debt financings.

Godfrey is a graduate of Williams College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Economics and was elected Student Body President and chosen as a Herbert H. Lehman Scholar. Godfrey is an avid photographer, cyclist, reader, and fan of English Premier League soccer and his 14-year-old Border Collie. A naturalized citizen of the United States of America, Godfrey was born in Nairobi, Kenya.
